For several years my dear hubby has wanted a tiny pig for a pet. We are animal people and share our home with multiple dogs, cats, and a pigeon. We have goats and chickens too. It seemed only natural to add a pig to the mix.
I did my homework on the subject. Searched for a reputable breeder and researched what we would need for a pet pig. In June, as a Father’s day gift, we brought our sweet baby piggy home.
I don’t know what I expected in a pig, certainly not the affection that we get from our little girl. She is playful and loves attention. She makes the cutest little pig noises. She gets along with our dogs and our cats….everybody loves Pepper. So today I thought I would share her with you. I’m sure if you met her, you’d love her too.
Some interesting facts about our little piggy: her favorite food is Cheerios, she is a very good jumper, she LOVES to have her belly rubbed, she screams like the Nazgul in the Lord of the Rings when she doesn’t get her way! Pepper is supposed to weigh about 30 pounds when she is fully grown. Currently she is 4 months old and about the size of our miniature dachshund. She is smart and was potty trained before she came to us…just a few weeks old.
In honor of my pig post today, I created a pig card. I have no idea who in the world I will send this too, but it did turn out cute (almost as cute as Pepper)
Pig Punch Art
This little pig was made mostly of circle punches. You can tell his little hooves were made with a heart punch. I used the Hardwood background stamp to create my fence, I just cut the planks apart and trimmed the ends to look more fence-like.
Punches are a great tool in the craft room. They can be used for so many different things, from pig punch art like this, to simply punching out a word to go on a card or scrapbook page. Whether you have punches in your craft room already or don’t own a single one, our Cookie-Cutter Christmas class is something you should check out. The deadline to register is TODAY. Click here for details. And if you have a suggestion for who I should send my pig card to, let me know!
