So Blessed!

So blessed to have an opportunity this past weekend to spend time with family and friends.  As I look for ways to bless others, I am continually amazed by the blessing it turns out to be for me.

Our church hosted a concert by the group Cloverton on Sunday and we had the opportunity, not only to attend the concert, but to have them stay in our home that night.  We have known these guys for a few years now and are so blessed by their friendship.  They are godly young men and we are always happy to visit with them. Our visits always end at Batten’s Bakery for breakfast before they hit the road.  This trip we had the special treat of hosting a couple of their wives who were traveling with them (and with one adorable little boy who came along too!)  When I found out that 2 of their wives were going to be here I decided to make little goodie bags as welcome gifts for them.  You’ll have to trust me when I say the gift bags were cute, because I didn’t take a picture, but here is our picture with the guys before they headed home.

So blessed to spend time with Cloverton

They weren’t the only special guests at our home this weekend.  Our dear daughter was here from grad school!  We were so happy to see her, even for just a few days.

Finally, a very special little girl turned 2 years old on Sunday.  I had the joy of creating some of the decor for her party.  Here are pictures of the name banner and the door sign that I made.

So blessed to celebrate! So blessed to celebrate!

There is still a lot of time in February.  I am excited to see the opportunities that God will provide for me to bless others!  One easy way to fulfill this challenge is to make Valentine cards or treats for your friends, family and coworkers.  You still have some time to do this.  If you need some quick and easy ideas come back tomorrow and I will have some to share with you!

A Blessing A Day {Day 1}

Well it is Feb. 1 and that marks the beginning of my Blessing A Day challenge. I made this card for my parents. They are both dealing with health issues right now & since I can’t reach my arms from Arkansas to Indiana, I sent them a hug in the form of a card. 🙂 Hope it brightens their day. Tomorrow I may send a card with a summer theme to my friends in Columbia, MO who are dealing with blizzard conditions! Wish I was there with you….really I do. We have rain here, but no snow 🙁

You can still join me in the quest to be a blessing to someone, somewhere everyday in Feb. I personally am commited to creating an item each day, but you can be a blessing to others with an intentionally spoken kind word, a smile shared with a stranger, or by cooking a meal for your family. The point is to focus on someone other than yourself and let them know you care. I hope you’ll join me.
