Window Box

The Window Box Thinlits Die from Stampin’ Up! is a new product that I have been playing with.  Here’s what I like about it so far…

  • You can create the box with a single sheet of 8 1/2 X 11 paper
  • The size is not too big and not too small.
  • The hexagon shape is unique and fun
  • The variety of decorative dies that come in this set allow me to embellish it for any occasion

We worked with this box in a class earlier this week where we created birthday themed items.  Making the first box is probably the hardest, but it really is not difficult at all to put together.  This is the box we made in our class…

Window Box

Notice the cute birthday candles on the side panel?  Those are so easy to create with the dies that come in this set.  The top piece was also cut out with these detailed thinlits.  Even the banner was created using a special thinlit from this set that ‘flags’ the ends of the paper and creates score lines to ‘pop’ your banner up.

Valentine Window Box

Today I worked on a box with a Valentine theme.  I used some of my Falling In Love Designer Series Paper to decorate the top of it and added hearts on the sides using one of the coordinating decorative framelits.  It looks like a lot of work, but really didn’t take that long to pull together.

Here’s a look at the top of the box where I used the Falling In Love Designer Series Paper.  This 12 X12 paper has such soft colors and elegant prints!

And here’s the top after it is all decorated…

That cute tag is another one of the thinlits that comes with this set of dies.  I used some silver metallic thread to attach it to the pink satin ribbon.  The sentiment was stamped from the Window Shopping stamp set that coordinates with the Window Box Thinlits Dies.   Here’s one more look at this box…

From this view you can see how pretty that heart thinlits die really is.  Once it was all finished I decided that some tiny pearls would be the perfect finishing touch for this elegant little box.  I am so pleased with how it turned out!

The Window Box Thinlits Dies (142762) are available in the new Occasions catalog.  The coordinating stamp set is called Window Shopping and is available in wood mount (142920) or clear mount (143265).  You can purchase these items as a bundle and save 10%!  Plus, until March 31, when you purchase this bundle you will also earn a FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure!  (I know you NEED some cute chicken stamps!)  If you are interested in placing an order contact me today, or click the SHOP NOW tab at the top of the page.

My Favorite Items from the New Catalog

I couldn’t wait to share my favorite items from the new catalog with you.  If you attended our Catalog Kick Off Party this week, you saw most of my favorites.  For those that were unable to make it, I wanted to share this information with you also.   There are so many wonderful new items to share that I will probably have a second post about the stamp sets I want to get specifically for Bible Journaling.  But for this post, I will list my favorites overall (in no particular order).

My Favorite Items from the New Catalog…

Better Together

This set is THE set to have for cards of all occasions.  It not only includes fun images and sentiments to use on card fronts, but it also has sentiments that can be used for the insides of cards as well.  If you are new to rubber stamping this is a great set to start with, but even veteran stampers will find this set useful to have on hand for any occasion.

My Favorite Items From the New Catalog

There are 19 stamps in this all-around fantastic set.  Here is how it looks on some cards. My Favorite Items from the New Catalog My Favorite Items from the New Catalog

Pineapple Background Stamp

My Favorite Items from the New Catalog

This background stamp has been an interesting but fun challenge to work with.  Initially I was trying to use it with typical pineapple colors, and it was pretty.  But then I saw some pink pineapples and I was smitten!  I love the fun whimsical look of this card and I will be using pineapples on many different types of cards this year!

Fiesta Birthday

Not everyone will get married, or have a baby or graduate high school this year, but every person you know WILL have a birthday this year!  That is why fun birthday sets are a MUST HAVE for our craft rooms.  Now I will admit that this set might not have the versatility that others have, but it certainly makes up for that in its festivity!  (Besides that I LOVE llamas!!!!)

My Favorite Items from the New Catalog

You can see that this set has a coordinating framelit collection and you can purchase them in a bundle and save 10%.    The stamp set is photopolymer and includes 21 stamps. The fun little banners, streamers and flowers will be great for all sorts of cards.  Here is the Fiesta Birthday set in action. My Favorite Items from the New Catalog

One more set to share with you today.  As an animal lover I HAD to include this in my favorite items from the new catalog!

Foxy Friends

My Favorite Items from the New Catalog

This is also a photopolymer set and includes 29 stamps!  It has a coordinating punch which you can bundle and save 10%.  There is also a paper stack (A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack) that coordinates with it.  I can’t wait to get my hands on this set and the punch!  As you can see, it says FOX, but can actually be several different animals.      My Favorite Items from the New Catalog

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my favorites from the new catalog, but I want you to make a list of your favorites too!  If you have not received a copy of the brand new 2016 – 2017 Stampin’ Up! catalog, please contact me and I will get one to you!  If you already have a copy, please leave a comment and tell us which stamp set is at the top of your wish list for the new catalog!
