Choosing my favorite new stamp sets for Bible journaling was not hard. In fact, this year I looked at my brand new Stampin’ Up! catalog with totally different eyes. Looking through the new catalog is such an exciting experience for me. I love to ohhh and ahhh over all the fun new stuff. I make lists of what I absolutely have to have immediately, and what I really want but can’t afford just yet. I look at all the new projects others are posting and my lists just get longer.
This year, even the first time glancing through, I was noticing the new stamp sets that I wanted to use in my journal Bible. I have ordered a few of them and they are arriving at my house this week, so you should be able to see how I have used them personally VERY soon. In the meantime, I will share the ones that stood out to me.
Labeler Alphabet
I have shopped for letter stickers like these and not had much success. You can imagine how excited I was to see this item in the new catalog. I can stamp these in any color I want. I can spell words with LOTS of vowels and not worry about running out. And, because it is a photopolymer stamp set, I will be able to line my letters up easily to spell any words I choose. This was a MUST HAVE for my Bible Journal! As a bonus, I can create totally personalized and unique cards or gift tags with this alphabet too. Its definitely a WIN WIN situation.
Wherever You Go
This bridge just screamed BIBLE JOURNAL to me the first time I saw it. Something about not being able to see the beginning or the end seems almost poetic to me. The fact that it is paired with a bird in flight, a beautiful compass and that great sunrise/sunset stamp, just adds to the value I see in using this to illustrate my faith. {LOVE}
Best Birds Bundle
I really love bird images and these are some sweet little birds. The fact that I can easily cut them out with a coordinating framelit makes them almost irresistible! This set will definitely be used in my Bible and for many beautiful cards too!
Falling Flowers Bundle
I mainly am drawn to this set because of that awesome flourish image. I can see that working well on several different types of Bible pages. Of course, flowers are always good too and can be used for lots of different things. I like the variety of flowers and the variety of flower sizes in this set. Once again, having a coordinating framelit to cut these out easily is definitely a selling point!
Do you have any new favorite stamp sets for Bible journaling? If so, I would love to hear which ones you will be using.
If you are interested in Bible Journaling, but have no idea where to start, you can join us at a gathering on Tuesday, June 28. We’ll be getting together to work on our pages and maybe try out some new tools or techniques. There is no cost to participate and you do NOT have to have a journal Bible to attend. We have some sample pages you can practice on and plenty of supplies to try out. If you’d like more information, please leave a comment below!
