I had an experience today that others might call a “happy accident.” If you are a fellow believer, however, you know that it is never an accident.
I am just starting to promote a new “class” called 40 Days of Gratitude. (It is really more of a crafting Bible Study.) Anyway, I wanted to use some of my stamping supplies in my Scripture journal today. Then I planned to take pictures to generate interest in the 40 Days of Gratitude. First, I stamped a border across the top. I bought the Stitchery stamp set to use in this journal, but hadn’t had an opportunity to do that yet. Next I wrote out the Scripture, highlighted important parts with a matching Stampin’ Write Marker, and then added some coordinating Stampin’ Up glitter washi tape.
My page…
I was pleased with the result and started to photograph my page. That’s when I realized that God had joined me in my creative process and I hadn’t even noticed. In his infinite wisdom, he had me stamp this wonderful stitched border at the top of the page where I would record the portion of Psalm 139 that says he “knit me together”, that his “workmanship is marvelous” and that he watched as “I was woven together.” I was blown away by the perfection of this stitched border on this exact page. I didn’t even know what passage I would be writing when I chose this stamp.
This reminded me that he is involved in absolutely every part of my life. Today’s passage ends with verse 16. “Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” Imagine, that before I was even born, God knew he would astound me today using a rubber stamp and some pretty purple ink. 🤯
The next time you are in your crafty space, be sure to look for God. You never know how he might show up. I am confident, however, that if we are looking, he WILL show up.
