Although this is our last day of Epic Celebrations, this is actually the first card I made with this set. I took one look at that guitar and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it!
Epic Celebrations
This background technique is called Direct to Paper. You create it by rubbing or brushing the ink pad directly on the paper. The technique produces great color and a wonderful dynamic effect, not to mention the fact that it worked perfectly with this sentiment from the Marquee Messages stamp set. I fussy cut the guitar like on this card, but, again, it really isn’t that hard to do.
Wrapping Up…
After working with this same stamp set all week, and since this is the last day of Epic Celebrations, I am sharing what I have learned with you.
- Although at first glance it might seem more for masculine cards, with the right color combinations it certainly does make CUTE feminine cards too.
- Make cards for all ages. We can make a fun card for a 16 year old or a 60 year old with this set.
- Pair it with bright colors, like today’s card, or with neutrals like this card. I love it both ways!
- Any of the images in this set work well for creating backgrounds with repeated stamping.
It is such a fun versatile set! Remember, the only way to get it is to earn it through Sale-A-Bration. During this campaign, for every $50 you spend you get to choose a free item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. This year Stampin’ Up is offering 2 levels of earning free product, giving you have even more options. Earn the larger items with a $100 order.
You can view the Sale-A-Bration brochure by clicking on the rotating catalog picture on the side or bottom of this page. Next, click the Sale-A-Bration image on that page. We’ll be sharing inspiration from a different free item next week!
