I thought Penguin Punch Art would be the perfect way to celebrate World Penguin Day 2016, but first I just have to share some cute penguin pictures with you. Who doesn’t love baby penguins?! Check out this little guy…
When my daughter was in high school she visited Australia as a student ambassador. She fell in love with the cute little blue penguins that live there. They are also called fairy penguins. Did you even know that penguins lived in Australia?! Here is a picture of the Little Blue Penguins…
I am not sure that a paper penguin can compare with the cuteness overload of the real thing, but it did turn out pretty adorable.
Penguin Punch Art
The penguin punch art is made mostly of ovals including his body, wing, feet and the white mask on his face. His head and eye are obviously circles and the beak is from a flower punch. Here is a list of the punches used…
- Extra-Large Oval (119859)
- Large Oval (119855)
- 1 1/4″ Circle (119861)
- Festive Flower Builder Punch (139682)
- 1/8″ Circle (134365)
Penguin Punch Art Altered
Because of the stamp set I decided to use on my finished project, I altered my penguin a little and added some snazzy sunglasses. The arm of the glasses is the branch portion of the Bird Builder Punch. I added the lens part with a pink 1/2″ circle and black circle from the largest eye portion of the Owl Builder Punch. Didn’t they turn out cute?! And now (insert drum roll)…
Penguin Punch Art Finished Project!
Love how the card turned out. I may even decide to use this on a scrapbook page instead. I partnered my penguin punch art with the Words of Truth stamp set (wood – 138758, clear – 139397). This is a great set for cards or scrapbook pages and is perfect for Bible Journaling! It is retiring in May, so you better get it before its gone!
I hope our post has inspired you to create something today. Go get those punches out and see what you can come up with! Make sure to share your creations with us so we can be inspired too!
