When your children are in elementary school, they bring home lots of art projects. It is awesome to display them on your refrigerator or on a bulletin board at home, but maybe you can use some of them on your handmade cards and share them with friends and family. It’s a unique way to share their art with grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc. My kiddos are all grown up, but today I still found a way to use one of those elementary projects on a super cute card.
We have lived in our current home for almost 19 years. I have never lived that long anywhere in my life. I love our home and the little bit of land that we own, but there are definitely challenges with staying in one place for so long. Mainly clutter. When you have to pack and move, you tend to declutter. As much as I hate moving, I appreciate the benefits that come with it. So I decided this year that I need to clean like I am packing to move. It will probably take me all year to get the job done, but next January I will be so happy that I started now.
While cleaning in my bedroom, I found an art project from my daughter’s elementary school days. It is a stamp that she hand carved in art class. I decided that I needed to ink that stamp up and create a card with it. ❤️
Here’s how my project turned out…
My daughter is married now and runs her own business, so the cute sentiment from the Bragworthy stamp set was perfect for this card. Slimline cards are very trendy right now. You don’t have to pay extra postage or make your own envelope, this card will fit in a business size envelope. I stamped her cute little turtle in 3 fun colors. I can’t wait to send this to her!
Try turning your kiddos artwork into some fun greeting cards to share with friends and family. It might be a picture they drew or colored or even a hand-carved stamp. 🙂 I hope you’ll try it out!
