‘3 Reasons to Send Halloween Cards’ might sound like an odd title from someone who doesn’t even really celebrate that holiday. However, I read an article recently, from Kirk Cameron, that talked about how Christians should be throwing the biggest and most fun Halloween party on their block. He challenged believers to invite their neighbors to a family fun event and use it as an opportunity to share Christ’s love with them.
So that got me to thinking about how I could translate that into my card making. And here is what I came up with…
3 Reasons to Send Halloween Cards
1. Because you have some cute Halloween themed stamps and they need to be inked! I don’t often buy Halloween stamps, but I do have some cute ones that have come in other holiday sets. Now I could just ignore them, but wouldn’t it be better to partner them with an encouraging note and send them to someone who might need another smile in their day?!
2. Because, if you’re like me, you LOVE the fall colors and will take any excuse to use that pallet in your card making! The colors of fall are beautiful on the changing leaves and on our cards. But those beautiful leaves don’t last long on the trees, and this season passes away just as quick. Creating Halloween cards for our friends and loved ones gives us an additional opportunity to use these rich fall colors.
3. Because Jesus has defeated the grave! Is there a better time to talk about this than at Halloween? What a great opportunity for us to remind others that Christ overcame death, and made a way for us to have eternal life with Him. That is worth celebrating!
Now those are just three of the reasons I came up with. We all have loved ones who live away from us, and this is just another opportunity to let them know we’re thinking of them. We probably all also have some kids in our lives that we care about. Kids love to get mail and a cute Halloween card (nothing scary) would make their day!
Whether or not our 3 reasons to send Halloween cards inspired you, I hope you are using your creativity to bless others and that you are doing that often. Let’s not let the holiday season sneak up and catch us off guard. Get busy preparing those holiday cards and projects. Start making your list now of all those people for whom you want to create something special. If I can help you in your planning or in your actual projects, please let me know. I would love to help!
