The woodland embossing folder is one of my most recent purchases from the Holiday Catalog.  I hadn’t even had a chance to play with it before I made the card featured in this post.  It was a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday evening.  We were having a wedding shower at church the next day and I was busy baking and gathering supplies for decorating.  I remembered that I did not have a card and my hubby said, “Surely you already have something that you can use.”  And he was right, I have lots of cards that were already made.  But there is something about creating a special card just for a special occasion or a special someone, that makes you not want to go to your stash, but create something new.  So I began thinking about something I could do pretty quick.

Since it was new, the woodland embossing folder came to my mind.  I had not made anything with it, but I had seen some cute cards that others had made, so I decided to give it a shot…

After embossing the Whisper White cardstock, I punched some hearts and adhered them to the card.  I used a black journaling pen to draw my strings and bows so they would look like they were hanging from the limbs.  (Love the bling from the red glimmer hearts!)

You can see a Halloween card made with the woodland embossing folder here.  I haven’t used it for a Christmas card yet, or Thanksgiving, but oh the possibilities!  I think my shower card would also work for Valentine’s day if we just change the sentiment.  We just about have every occasion covered with this one embossing folder.  What a bargain!

Don’t forget that TOMORROW is the final day to get 15% off stamp sets in the annual AND holiday catalogs.  I will be placing an order because there are still some holiday sets I want and I can’t resist a stampin’ sale!  Let me know if you want to take advantage of the sale too!
