Have you ever taught someone to stamp? Did you know that research shows that we learn by teaching others? This is why, even if you aren’t an expert, you can benefit from teaching others. The process of teaching others helps us recognize gaps in our own understanding and better organize information in our minds. When we explain something, we come to understand it better ourselves. Pretty cool the way our minds work. We help ourselves while we are helping others.
I love to teach stamping and cardmaking to others. It is always fun when someone, who has never stamped, succeeds in putting ink to paper. Witnessing the sense of accomplishment and awe just never gets old. And one of the BEST things about stamping is that absolutely ANYONE can do it. You don’t have to be creative or artistic to add ink to a stamp and put it on paper. People often say that they aren’t creative, but with this hobby, you don’t have to be! You can make a cute card to send to a friend or family member even if you feel you have zero artistic ability. Don’t believe me? Come try it out. I guarantee you can do and I will show you how.
We have an opportunity next week for brand new or inexperienced stampers to come try it out. This is free, so you only risk a little of your time. You will leave with a hand stamped card that you can share with someone else. You might also leave with one of the fun prizes we are giving away!
One of my goals this year is to mail more cards to people than I did last year. Another goal is to teach more people to stamp than I did last year. I hope you will come try it out. Just let me know you want to attend and I will have supplies prepared for you. If you are already a stamper, you can also attend this free event, I just ask that you bring a new stamping friend with you so they can try it out too. RVSP for yourself and your friend here.
Why stamping you ask? You can read about why I do what I do here. Hope you will join me on January 19 at 6 for our free event.
