Acts of loveOur world needs more acts of love.  Brokenness, hatred and despair are everywhere these days and it can becoming quite overwhelming.  One of my all time favorite verses was the verse of the day yesterday on the Bible app I use.  It is from Hebrews and it says this…

“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.”  Hebrews 10:24

Verse 25 might also be familiar to you.  It talks about not neglecting meeting together and then reminds us to “encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

This is why I love paper crafts.  It doesn’t matter whether I am making a card for someone who is sick, a cute little gift box for a friend, or something fun to decorate my home.  Whenever I make something and share it, I hope that it is an encouragement to those who receive it.  That it might bring a smile to their face and brighten their day.  I want it to encourage them and maybe motivate them to do something nice for someone else.

At times I get caught up in the business side of paper crafting.  I start focusing on articles to write or videos to make or what cute social media post might get the most engagement, etc.  I forget the ‘people’ side of what I do.  This year, I really want to stay focused on those acts of love.  It’s why I do what I do.

If you are a paper crafter, you know how easy it is to hoard those cards you make – saving them for just the perfect special occasion or not sending them so you have a sample to replicate later.  This year I am committed to emptying my card stash.  I am sending or giving all those saved cards away and I am going to send or give away the new ones I make also.  I hope, if you make cards, that you will join me in this acts of love challenge.

Maybe you have never even picked up a rubber stamp, but you like the thought of sending some handcrafted encouragement to others.  I have a couple of opportunities for you.  If you are local, I am hosting a free event for people to try out card making.  You can come, learn to stamp, and leave with a card to share with someone else.  You can read all about it here.

If you can’t make it to our free event, I still want to share this opportunity of encouraging others.  So leave a comment below.  Tell me what kind of card you would be interested in sending to someone.  I will find something in my stash to send to you so you can pass it on to someone else.  And listen people, I have a serious stash of cards, so don’t be shy about asking me to send one to you.  I am happy to do it!

Sending cards.  Acts of love.  Let’s do this together.
