Yesterday I painted in my Bible. This wasn’t an accident, it was intentional. And I can’t wait to do it again! Maybe you have heard of Bible Journaling or maybe you think I am crazy. I have always written in my Bible…marked verses to pray for my kids or my husband, dated certain passages with a reminder of why that day was significant, etc. I have even drawn in my Bible at times…but very small timid pictures and only in pencil.
Recently I became interested in using a Journaling Bible to illustrate my faith. There are as many ways to journal in your Bible as there are people who are doing this. The whole point is to visually express the word of God using the creativity He has given you.
So….I painted in my brand new journal Bible using a beautiful teal paint…and it is not a timid little mark either!

I also stamped in my new Bible, colored in it, used glitter spray and spent the entire day focused on His Word and how to creatively express it. I had a blast! There were about 20 other ladies who were also “ruining” their brand new Bibles. We shared our pages and the things God spoke to us…such a powerful experience.
Are you also interested in Bible Journaling? If you are illustrating your faith, I would love to hear how you are doing that. Or maybe you have never even heard of this and are curious. I will be happy to answer any questions you have about how to get started. You don’t have to be an artist to do this, just willing to try. I will be sharing more pages this week so check back soon to see the stamping I did in my Bible!
