Birthday Fiesta is one of my favorite stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!  Last year when I saw the new catalog I was so very excited to find a llama stamp and it was the first thing on my “Gotta Have It” list.  I love llamas, and alpacas and my family surprised my on my birthday in November with 3 alpacas of my very own. <3   They are adorable and funny and I have enjoyed them so much.  In the barn the other day I was snapping pictures of them and Flash was curious about my camera…

Maybe it is a face that only a mother could love, but that sweet thing just melts my heart!  He is the friendliest of my alpacas and is obviously NOT camera shy.  He is the inspiration for this….

I used the Birthday Fiesta stamp set with the coordinating Fiesta Time Framelits Dies and I paired it with that gorgeous paper from the new Occasions catalog.  It is called Cupcakes & Carousels and is a 6 X 6 paper stack.

I couldn’t leave my other 2 alpacas out, so here’s how I included them.  Three little heads for my three little friends 🙂

The challenge this week is masculine birthday cards, so the colors are kind of neutral and there is no bling.

There is still plenty of time left in January to join our card a day birthday challenge.  Here at The Rock Paper Scissors Studio we are hoping to send a record number of birthday cards in 2017.   Maybe you would like to take on that challenge as well.  I love how easy it is to wish friends and family ‘happy birthday’ on Facebook, but sending or giving an actual card is certainly even more special.  And sending one that you have handmade takes that special feeling up another notch.

If you would like to check out other birthday cards from this month, you can visit our Facebook page.  Be sure to like our page while you are there.  You can join the challenge and share your handmade birthday cards on our page too. 🙂
