What college student doesn’t love to receive care packages from home? I know my kids love it. My husband and I enjoy thinking creatively about the items we’ll include in each package. When I saw the cute little Twinkie minions on Pinterest, I knew that I had to make some for Valentine’s Day. Here is how my version of this cute treat turned out…
We included some of these in care packages to both our children. My daughter hated to eat her’s because they were so cute! Of course, in the end the Twinkie yumminess overrides the minion cuteness.
I used some scrap paper to make a pattern for the minion overalls, then traced this and cut them out of Pacific Point cardstock (111350). Their pockets were drawn on using the Uniball Signo White Gel Pen (105021). The other details were drawn with a black marker. The little heart is from the Owl Builder Punch (118074). I used thin strips of Basic Black cardstock (121045) and some googly eyes to make the minion’s goggles.
The care packages included some other little goodies, but by far these little guys were the biggest hit. Hope you will try making some of these to brighten someone’s day!
Share Your Ideas for Care Packages!
The month is more than half over, but there is still plenty of time to intentionally be a blessing to those around us. If you have some creative ideas for this, please share them in a comment! Also, please share ideas you have for care packages for college students…and if it will fit in a small flat rate box, that would be awesome!
OMG, these are so cute! Minions are so adorable! They are perfect for Valentines Day, but I think they are great for any time you just want to say “I love you” (like during midterms!)
