I have found a great way to deal with this oppressive summer heat we are experiencing! I am already thinking about cooler weather, the holidays & Christmas cards. I even walked through the Christmas decorations at Hobby Lobby just for fun. People don’t understand that, for a crafter, it is NEVER too early to start preparing for the holidays.
If you follow our Facebook page, you have seen the Card A Day Christmas in July challenge I am participating in with a friend. By the end of July we’ll have 31 Christmas cards…that’s a decent head start. And I will be adding 10 more cards to that from our Christmas Card Club that starts this month!
Now, none of this makes it feel any cooler outside, but it does put the heat in perspective. I know that it won’t last, and I should enjoy all the sunshine and swim days that I get this summer! I can plan for cold weather and be grateful that today I can play outside with my pup and I don’t have to wear a coat or scrape ice off my car. We have so much to be thankful for in every season. Let’s choose to be happy for the day God has given us today…regardless of the weather.
Here’s a weather related card that basically communicates this same idea….
I am so happy that the Sprinkles of Life stamp set was continued in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog. It has such cute images and is so versatile! When I was considering a card that had something to do with the weather, it was the first stamp set I thought of.
If you want to see the Christmas in July cards I am making this month, you cans see them on our Facebook page here. You can join the challenge with us and get a head start on your holiday stamping too! Contact me if you have questions!
