Summer Themed Cards were our focus at the July stamping class this week.  We have so much fun at our classes and this was no different.  It was a little crazy this month with my unexpected surgery on the original class date.  (Yikes!)  At least having your appendix removed is something you only have to deal with once!

Stampin’ Up has great images for summer themed cards and honestly it was hard to choose which ones to use.  I love them all!  But I chose these 3 projects because there was a good variety and they were simple.  The class was designed so you could bring a friend free and introduce them to the art of cardmaking. 🙂

Lily Pad Lake Card

Summer Themed Cards

I love the simple stamping on this card.  We did use Watercolor Pencils to color our sailboats and then cut them out using the Big Shot and coordinating dies.  One of the smaller sailboats was reserved for decorating the inside of the card or the envelope.  The banner, that the boats are attached to, was cut twice—once in Whisper White and once in Pacific Point.  Then we cut the Pacific Point banner in half so that the ends would show on either side of the white banner.

Butterfly Gala Card

Summer Themed Cards

The Butterfly Gala stamp set and the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch make creating an elegant butterfly card so very easy!  We sponged some ink on our card front before our punched butterflies were adhered.  Two new 2019-2020 In Colors were used on this card — Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray.  Aren’t they beautiful with Mint Macaron?  I just love these soft colors!  Of course the Butterfly Duet Punch punches two butterflies at once, so we used those to add a fun detail inside our cards…

Summer Themed Cards

Aren’t they the sweetest?!  I know this card will make someone smile when they receive it!

Magnolia Lane Card

Summer Themed Cards

How can you go wrong with this beautiful Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper?  Because the paper is so elegant, the design of the card is quite simple.  I offered a variety of sentiments so class participants could use it for whatever occasion they chose.  We also used a stamp to decorate our envelope…
