Count your blessings…not your problems

This weekend we had the privilege of moving our son to his first apartment.  He is stepping out into this great big world on his own…381 miles from home.  It would be easy for me to let fear and worry plague my mind.  I am a worrier from way back.  But Scripture tells me that God has not given us a spirit of timidity.  So, I am choosing faith over fear.  I am counting my blessings…not my problems.

Here is my list for today…

  1. My family is healthy
  2. Kansas City is in driving distance.
  3. God is in control.

This is the Valentine card I mailed to him before I left KC…

Count your blessings...not your problems

It should arrive in just a day or two.  Don’t you just love that little chameleon?! It is from the January Paper Pumpkin stamp set.   I hope he enjoys the bad pun also. 😉

In case you are wondering, the Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription that delivers a box of paper craft supplies directly to your mailbox.  Sometimes they are card projects, sometimes they are gift boxes or other items.  Either way, they are ALWAYS cute and come with a stamp set and at least one ink spot (a little one-inch ink pad).  Typically they deliver holiday themed kits a month prior, so I got the Valentine kit in January.  It is a great bargain and you get a little crafting happiness in. your mailbox every month, definitely one of those blessings you should be counting!  I’ll post pictures of the actual kit items when I get them made this week, so check back to see how cute they are!

So, remember, count those blessings this week, no matter what!  Don’t let ANY problems take the focus from the good things in your life.  And give someone a Valentine card…or lots of people!  Share your paper crafting skills and bring a smile to someone’s day.  That way, they will have an extra blessing to count too.  🙂
