Day 3 of Epic Celebrations Stamp Set

This is day 3 of Epic Celebrations stamp set!  If you want to take a look at the images included in this set, check out this post.  Today we have used repeated stamped images like our shoes yesterday, except with the guitar image.  This card was surprisingly easy to do.  Using Watercolor Pencils I quickly added color to the guitars.  I like that the images were intentionally NOT colored perfectly, just quickly.  It adds a sort of hand drawn feel to the card.

Day 3 of Epic Celebrations Stamp Set The Tailored Tag Punch (new in the Occasions Catalog) nicely frames the stamped sentiment and adds a wonderful masculine touch.  Because of the straight lines, it is easy to to add a larger colored layer, even without a larger punch.  A black marker and a ruler helped me add the “pin stripe” detail to the punched sentiment.  This turned out exactly as I had hoped it would.  How often does that happen? 😉  Like yesterday’s card, I added a little bling with some metallic thread, but in copper this time.  It is shiny, but doesn’t look out of place on the masculine card.

Don’t forget, you can select the Epic Celebrations stamp set FREE with a $50 order during our Sale-A-Bration campaign going on now!  We have 2 more cards to share from this set.  Be sure to check back!  There’s another shoe project coming tomorrow. 🙂

Saying Goodbye

Saying goodbye to our retiring product is a bittersweet time every year. Some of my stamp sets feel like old friends and I don’t want to let them go just yet. We also have to say goodbye to 5 In Colors every year and some of them are my favorite colors. (Still mourning the loss of Blackberry Bliss last year!) But the excitement of the new products that are arriving soon and the new “friends” that I will make, cheers me up and gives me something to look forward to.

The Traveler stamp set is one of my “old friends.” We have created cards for almost every occasion with this set, including Christmas. It might not seem versatile to you at first glance, but once you start playing with it, you realize the possibilities. You can see, from the picture of my Traveler stamps, that it was well loved.

Saying Goodbye

Today I decided to create yet another card with this set.  I needed a masculine birthday card and I wanted to do a reflection technique.  I love how it turned out and that just makes it harder to say goodbye to this retiring stamp set.

Saying Goodbye

We’ll be playing with this set and other retiring product at our Out with the Old class later this month. You can register for this class here!  Join us for this special stamping event and get a peek at some of the new items that will be available in June!

Birthday Fiesta

Birthday Fiesta is one of my favorite stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!  Last year when I saw the new catalog I was so very excited to find a llama stamp and it was the first thing on my “Gotta Have It” list.  I love llamas, and alpacas and my family surprised my on my birthday in November with 3 alpacas of my very own. <3   They are adorable and funny and I have enjoyed them so much.  In the barn the other day I was snapping pictures of them and Flash was curious about my camera…

Birthday Fiesta

Maybe it is a face that only a mother could love, but that sweet thing just melts my heart!  He is the friendliest of my alpacas and is obviously NOT camera shy.  He is the inspiration for this….

I used the Birthday Fiesta stamp set with the coordinating Fiesta Time Framelits Dies and I paired it with that gorgeous paper from the new Occasions catalog.  It is called Cupcakes & Carousels and is a 6 X 6 paper stack.

I couldn’t leave my other 2 alpacas out, so here’s how I included them.  Three little heads for my three little friends 🙂

Birthday Fiesta

This week our challenge has been masculine birthday cards, so I tried to keep the colors kind of neutral and didn’t add any bling.

There is still plenty of time left in January to join our card a day birthday challenge.  Here at The Rock Paper Scissors Studio we are hoping to send a record number of birthday cards in 2017.   Maybe you would like to take on that challenge as well.  I love how easy it is to wish friends and family ‘happy birthday’ on Facebook, but sending or giving an actual card is certainly even more special.  And sending one that you have handmade takes that special feeling up another notch.

If you would like to check out other birthday cards from this month, you can visit our Facebook page.  Be sure to like our page while you are there.  You can join the challenge and share your handmade birthday cards on our page too. 🙂
